Today I've been in contact with our photogs all day because we we're working out logistics for their trip to Aruba!  And guess what!?!  Another couple booked them in Aruba as well, right after our wedding!!  So you know what that means?  We're splitting flight costs with the other couple!!  Yahhhooo, every little bit helps right?!  I love getting great news and saving money too!  What great news or money saving things happened to you during your wedding planning?

Today was a busy "wedding planning" day for Jeff and myself, but we did get a lot accomplished.  We started the day with a meeting with our priest from our Catholic church.  After getting through the initial paper work we got to talking and getting to know Father and vice versa.  The meeting made our wedding seem even more real, discussing the meaning of marriage and reiterating the fact that its forever.  I knew all this before going into our meeting, but it's different when its coming from your priest.
After the meeting we went to order our invitations.  This particular meeting was 2 hours of fun!  Jeff and I worked on the invitation wording this past week and planned our invite style a couple months ago at By Invitation Only.  So doing all that made the process much quicker today!  With a couple of changes of our initial order, we got them done and the rough draft should be done this Wednesday!  I can't wait to see it and put it all together.  But in the mean time here's an inspiration pic of our wedding invites (minus the gatefold):

So yes, we will be doing box invitations!!  That's the one thing (besides our photogs) that was a MUST for me!  Though Jeff tried to fight it, I won in the end.  His argument was about postage, but I assured him that since we don't have many to send, it wouldn't be an issue (I hope)!
This particular invite (pictured) is almost $20 per invite (WOAH- times 85 is WAY OVERBUDGET)!  So to cut cost we used By Invitation Only and placed our paper order from Envelopments and the printing will be done in-house, so it's basically custom made for much less!  I already have the boxes and the starfish waiting!
The evening ended with shopping online, OldNavy to be exact.  I had a coupon that expired today, so why not put it to good use, plus it was free shipping, even better!! I ended up purchasing flip flops for the ladies for the reception, because I know my girls like to get down!  Kinda like this concept below, except flip flops in lavender, beige, and white.

I love it when all our ideas and inspiration start becoming reality!  Have your inspirational boards become reality or are they just a dream?!

Hello friends, family, and fellow brides!!!  Sorry I've been MIA for a while, things are always crazy during the holidays, right?!  Hope everyone got enough to eat and got shopping done (for Christmas, not yourself)!  Though I've missed a week, no worries, I'm still FULL ON wedding planning with a couple of projects in between!  In spirit of the holidays, this is was I just finished working on:

Here's a closer picture!  It's basically a banner I made from scrapbook paper and my Cricut!  It reads "Merry Christmas" and will go on the wall above the tree!

Besides doing that, I just finished a couple of secret projects, that I so want to show off, but you'll just have to wait to see them!  But I can share what I just finished this evening.  I had the inspiration to add postcards to our OOT bags instead of doing a traditional guestbook.
     The inspiration pic :

I just finished ordering 100 postcards on Vistaprint for FREE!!  Yes folks for free, I just had to pay for shipping!!  The process was simple, I just uploaded a fav picture that Jeff took while we were in Aruba, did a simple text, designed the backside and viola!

So like the inspirational picture, we'll be asking guests to share their favorite moments!  We will be ordering more (for free hopefully) so that guest can keep them for themselves or mail one to a loved one!  So what do you think of these postcards instead a traditional guestbook?  Yay or nay?
